As we begin a new year, I am honored to introduce myself as the new President of ISIF. It is a privilege to serve this vibrant community dedicated to advancing the field of model-based artificial intelligence (AI) and sensor data fusion. These areas continue to play a pivotal role in tackling complex problems across diverse domains, from autonomous systems to defense and security.

In an era dominated by data-driven AI, it is crucial to emphasize the enduring importance of model-based approaches and sensor data fusion. These methods provide interpretability, robustness, and domain adaptability that complement data-driven techniques, creating hybrid solutions that are both powerful and reliable.

This year, we are excited to have the FUSION 2025 conference, which will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from July 7–11. FUSION isthe premier venue for showcasing cutting-edge research and networking with global experts in our field. I warmly invite you to participate, whether by presenting your work, attending sessions, or exploring potential collaborations.

As we move forward together, I welcome your ideas and input on how ISIF can further support our community and the advancement of model-based AI and data fusion.
