Abstract

The International Society of Information Fusion (ISIF) was formed in 1998 to address the needs of the information fusion community. Several communities were involved in information fusion around that time but there was not a single technical society with focus on information fusion. FUSION’98 provided an opportunity for people with interests in fusion to get together. ISIF was formed to be a sponsor for FUSION’99 and future fusion conferences. Several individuals played key roles in the early history of ISIF.
