Congratulations to Dr. Christopher Bowman, the recipient of the 2018 Joseph Mignogna Data Fusion Award
The Joe Mignogna Data Fusion Award is awarded annually to a person who is a leader in the Data Fusion Community. Joe Mignogna served as Executive Director for the first six Data Fusion Symposia that preceded the formation of the National Symposia on Sensor and Data Fusion. Prior to that, Joe served in World War II, where he flew 67 combat missions in B-25 bombers, and in the Korean War, where he served as a Wing Electronics Officer for the Strategic Air Command. After the Korean War, Joe spent over 25 years at the Naval Air Development Center, where he distinguished himself developing missile control systems and non-cooperative target recognition technology. He was a true leader in the community, and the Department of Defense Data Fusion Group (DFG) instituted the Joe Mignogna Data Fusion Award in 1994 to honor his memory.
The election to fill the Board of Director positions for 2019-2021 is now complete. We want to thank all of those who participated. We are pleased to announce that the new BoD members are Simon Maskell, Kathryn Laskey and Felix Govaers. Please join us in congratulating them as they begin their three year term in January.
