David W. Krout earned a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington, Seattle, WA in 2006. He is currently a Principal Engineer at the Applied Physics Lab of the University of Washington (APL/UW) and Affiliate Associate Professor with the Electrical Engineering Department. He manages several basic and applied research projects that focus on detection, classification, and localization of underwater targets. His primary research interests include multiple target tracking, computational intelligence, sensor management, optimization, and digital signal processing.
